The exhaustive study of these representations, using various methodologies, is linked with archaeological evidence of ancient inhabitants of the region between 500 B.C. and 1550 A.D. In this area, in addition to rock art sites, burial and habitation sites have been associated.

Therefore, the exhibition is not only a tour of large-format images of engravings and rock paintings but also a series of pre-Columbian stone and ceramic objects that may have functioned as tools, containing in their decorations the same representations or petro-engravings provided by the National Museum of Costa Rica.
